About the project
"Meghan B. approached me, asking if I would be interested in joining her on a few shows across the UK. She was wanting to arrange and play her music in a more contemporary musical context. Originally it was going to be a duo project with keys and drums - Meghan B. doubling vocals - until we agreed on adding bass. I immediately thought of Harry Brown, a great bass player who I knew would be able to learn and play Greta’s music easily - which is no easy task - some of these tunes are very involved with most of them being fairly, traditionally classical. Some having heavy rubato, ralls and accellerandos, which is normally fine, but placing something like that into a contemporary jazz context where a defined and consistent pulse is usually the order of the day has been a real challenge. It’s forced myself and Harry to approach this differently to how we might have done otherwise when playing something more traditionally of the style. This is certainly not to be missed" Glenn Charles
