What an intriguing afternoon of live music is in store for you at The Garibaldi Live on this Saturday afternoon - a presentation of the music of one of the most iconic and influential songwriter in the history of contemporary popular music, the incomparable Ray Charles.
Ray fused rhythm and blues, gospel, and blues styles into his early recordings, his playing reflecting influences from country blues, barrelhouse, and stride piano styles.
With over 200 self-penned compositions, 62 studio albums, 127 singles, and a career spanning almost 6 decades, the Ray Charles’ legacy presents a treasure trove of musical gems, ranging from his early jazz years to his later dalliances with country music.
Curated by Mat Day, and aided and abetted by his close friends and accomplished band of musicians, expect to hear classics such as “Georgia On My Mind”, “Hit The Road Jack”, “I Got A Woman” and “What’d I Say.”
